The Day After Tomorrow is an a “disaster” movie filled with special effects that may help us to reflect on the apocalyptic-themed readings we have for Sunday, November 29th. Join us! Rated PG.
Faith & Film Evenings with the Daughters of Saint Paul foster theological reflection on movies and our ability to view culture with eyes of faith. We view the chosen film in its entirety and then dialogue in light of a highlighted Scripture passage. At the Pauline Book & Media Centre in Toronto.

Gran Torino Faith & Film Evening
Gran Torino (directed by and starring Clint Eastwood) is a powerful film but perhaps an unlikely choice for Advent. Suggested by a participant at our Faith & Film Evenings, we chose it for this week because its theme of redemption and bringing justice go so well with the themes of Sunday’s readings. Rated 14A.

Driving Directions
- From the North, take 400 South to 401 East. Exit at Dufferin Street and go south. We are located on Dufferin, ½ block South of Lawrence Avenue on the West side of the street.
- From the South, take Don Valley Parkway to 401 West. Exit at Allen Road and go Allen Road South . Exit at Lawrence Avenue and go west. Turn South (left) onto Dufferin Street . We are located on Dufferin, ½ block South of Lawrence Avenue on the West side of the street.
- From the East, take 401 West. Exit at Allen Road and go Allen Road South . Exit at Lawrence Avenue and go west. Turn South (left) onto Dufferin Street . We are located on Dufferin, ½ block South of Lawrence Avenue on the West side of the street.
- From the West, take 401 East. Exit at Dufferin Street and go south. We are located on Dufferin, ½ block South of Lawrence Avenue on the West side of the street.
Public Transit Directions
- Subway: Take the University/Spadina Line to the Lawrence West station. Then take the 52 or 58 bus going west. Get off at the corner of Dufferin and Lawrence and walk ½ block south to the book centre on the west side of Dufferin.
- Bus: Take any Lawrence Avenue bus (52) to Dufferin Street and walk ½ block south on Dufferin to the book centre on the west side of the street. You can also take any Dufferin Street bus (29) and get off in front of the book centre on the west side or across the street on the east side.
