“Everything in a Christian way”

This is another of my favorite quotations from our Founder, Blessed James Alberione, on our vocation of being Catholic media artists:

Fr. James Alberione

Fr. James Alberione

“Imbue all thought and human knowledge with the Gospel. Don’t speak only about religion, but speak about everything in a Christian way.”

Sometimes we think that we have to write or produce only about specifically religious topics to fulfill our vocation as Catholic media artists. But especially in today’s secular society, it’s more important than ever that we bring our identity and perspective as followers of Christ into everything, every subject.

Saint Paul also says it beautifully:
“Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things” (Phil. 4:8, NRSV).

  1. These are great thoughts. I love this idea, especially: “bring our identity and perspective as followers of Christ into everything, every subject.”
