Communication and Mercy: A Fruitful Encounter: Theme for WCD 2016
Last week, the Pontifical Council for Social Communications announced the theme for 2016 World Communications Day: Communication and Mercy: A Fruitful Encounter. (The message is released annually on January 24, the Feast of St. Francis De Sales, patron of journalists. The actual World Communications Day for 2016 will be May 8th.) This beautiful theme captures many of the emphases of Pope Francis: mercy, encounter, the “humanness” of every act of communication, and paying attention to the fruit of our choices.
