Writing Odds & Ends

I’m hoping to see Soul Surfer this weekend–a film based on the inspiring true story about Bethany Hamilton, a young woman whose faith sustains her in coping with terrible tragedy. Here is Sr. Rose’s review and Sr. Helena’s review.

I can’t believe we’re already at the 5th Sunday of Lent, but I have enjoyed several “Lenten companions”, especially our sisters’ Sunday Lenten reflections–here’s the link for the 5th Sunday of Lent.

I haven’t had a chance yet to get back to my list of transcendent films, but Maria reminded me that Of Gods and Men is playing at the Cumberland (here in Toronto) right now. (Times are: 12:40, 3:30, 6:30, 9:20). If you haven’t seen it and you enjoy inspiring films with religious themes, this is a must-see! Kudos to the Cumberland for making it available on the big screen!

Writing Progress: A lot is going on. As you can see from the counter on the right, I’m just getting started on my Script Frenzy script. I knew I’d be off to a slow start and am expecting to pile up a serious page count later in the month. Still, every page counts when you’ve only 20 days left! And I’ve started writing the readers’ guide for See Yourself Through God’s Eyes (thanks to readers for suggestions of what would be helpful).  Finally, I’m really close to finishing the rough draft of my current book on the saints–hopefully I’ll finish this coming week. Then I’ll get back here blogging a little more frequently.

In the meantime, it looks like I might be traveling to Chicago in July. If there are any Chicagoans in the area who would like to join me for a lecture/booksigning for my latest published book, See Yourself Through God’s Eyes, let me know (comment on this post or send an email to PaulineTorontoatgmail.com), and I’ll send you notice if it works out–I’m hoping it will!)

  1. Let me know what you think of the film. I want to see that and I want to see Of Gods and Men and also the film about Hildegard.

Prayers for you as we journey through Lent; I find myself so tired but yet reminded of resurrection and new life today.

Please come to Albany for a book signing!

    • Fran,
I will let you know about Soul Surfer–in the end, I didn’t see it opening weekend, but I will try to see it this coming Tuesday. You will really enjoy Of Gods and Men–it’s a great film. I’m looking forward to seeing the film about Hildegard, too.

I hope your Lenten journey–especially during this more intense week–brings you to a new experience of life.

Thank you for the invite to Albany…hmmm…it’s not too far away. God bless!
